Summer Shakespeare!

Hello everyone! I’ve got an exciting announcement – this summer I will once again be joining my friends at the Nashville Shakespeare for Shakespeare in the Park! This year’s shows will be THE WINTER’S TALE and ANTONY & CLEOPATRA, in which I will be playing the roles of Autolycus and Agrippa, respectively. I am thrilled to spend another summer at NSF, and can’t wait to get started 🙂

Hooray for New Works!

I am so pleased to announce that I will be participating in the Nashville Repertory Theatre’s Ingram New Works Festival this month! PATTERN SEEKING ANIMALS, the excellent new play by Gabrielle Reisman, will have staged readings alongside new plays by playwrights such as Christopher Durang and Nashville’s own Nate Eppler!

“Louisiana’s coastline is disappearing. A plot of land the size of a football field is swallowed every hour by rising water. As the ocean creeps up on the town of Jean Lafitte, scientists and state administrators bargain over its future, and a theatre troupe arrives to tell the town’s story. When a storm threatens everyone’s plans, the citizens of Jean Lafitte- from the mayor to a pair young Piggly Wiggly employees try to make some sense of what comes next.”

What?! A Harry Potter Reading?

Good afternoon, Muggles! Those of you remotely aware of pop culture no doubt are aware that this week, the latest installments in the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II, were released to the public. But these aren’t new books- no no, friends, they are plays! And I’m sure you may be wondering just how you’re going to get to experience the magic as fully as you can without flying to London and seeing these works on West End. Well, lucky for you, as part of Actor’s Bridge Ensemble’s Sideshow Fringe Festival, there is a staged reading of HPCC Parts I & II this weekend, August 6 & 7!  It will be most magical! PICASSO at TCT!

Hello friends! I am incredibly excited to tell you about my current venture – directing Steve Martin’s PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE at Towne Centre Theatre in Brentwood, TN! This is a beautiful, hilarious play that you won’t want to miss! The show runs from April 22nd through May 7th.

“Imagine if Picasso and Einstein met. That is the premise for comedian-turned-playwright Steve Martin’s PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE (a Samuel French production). Set in a Parisian bar at the beginning of the 20th century (1904 to be precise), the play imagines a comical encounter between Pablo Picasso (Daniel Morgan) and Albert Einstein (Will Miranne), both of whom are in their early twenties and fully aware of their amazing potential. In addition to the two historical figures, the play is also populated with an amusingly incontinent barfly, a gullible yet lovable bartender, a wise waitress, along with a few surprises that trounce in and out of the Lapin Agile.

Directed by Lipscomb University’s Jonah M. Jackson, this hilarious cast also includes Andrew Johnson, Phil Brady, Emily Eytchison, Gracie Smith, Randal Cooper, Christopher Jennings, Jacqueline Smoak and Bowd Beal.” – Jeffrey Ellis, BroadwayWorld Nashville
